Does an Ice Cream Cone Need a Plastic Spoon?

In all my years of eating ice cream, the most bewildering thing happened. My eldest son ordered an ice cream cone, hoping to avoid the use of a paper cup, yet the staff stuck a plastic spoon into his ice cream cone. So fast that he couldn’t even say no.

Also, 1 single-use plastic spoon for each tiny bit of tasting?

The ice cream industry certainly can contribute to a more sustainable future by using more eco-friendly materials and educating staff to prevent unnecessary wastage.

I’ve just emailed feedback to the store. The template is copied below so that you may adapt it to suit your local ice cream store.

Small change. Big difference. Happy eating ice cream!
